Small Group Counseling
Counseling groups are formed when a need is determined by the counselor, teachers, parents, or students. Groups typically consist of 4-6 students, meeting 6 weeks, during a predetermined scheduled time. Before a group begins, parent permission is granted and goals are developed. Topics for groups can vary greatly and are dependent on the students' needs. Possible topics for small groups include but are not limited to:
- Friendships/Social Skills
- Girl Talk
- Being a "new kid"
- Study Skills/Organization
- Grief
- Self-Esteem
- Divorce
- Stress Management
- Test Anxiety
- Coping with Life Changes
- Career/College Chat
